A simple guide to taking part in ICE2021 online

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our first online conference this summer! This simple guide will help you prepare to take part in the event, plan your conference experience, and get the most out of your time with us. Let’s get started!

What are the system requirements?

Most desktop and laptop computers purchased within the past few years will support the Pathable platform and allow you to take part in the event. The following are recommended:

Operating System

  • Mac: Mac OSX 10.7 or later
  • Windows: Windows 10, 8, 8.1, 7, Vista (SP1 or later), XP (SP3 or later)
  • Ubuntu: 12.04 or later
  • Linux: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4 or higher

Web Browsers
We strongly recommend using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers. Due to limitations within Zoom, attendees in Safari, Firefox, or other browsers may experience difficulty.

Internet Connection
We recommend an internet connection with a minimum of 1.5 Mbps upload time, though you’ll get the best performance witha 3+ Mbps upload. Please note that your average wireless speeds are typically lower than your internet service provider’s advertised speeds. You can use speedtest.net to test your speeds on your computer.

Optional Hardware
The camera, microphone and speakers on most computers will be adequate to support the Pathable experience. However, you can optimize your experience by using an external webcam and a headset with a microphone.

Mobile Web / Smartphone 
While most people opt to attend the conference from a laptop or desktop computer, you can take part in the conference with a smartphone. Recommended browsers include Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. 

How do I prepare to take part in ICE2021?

Download and Install “Zoom Client for Meetings.” 
Every device is different, visit the Zoom Download Center for details.

Download and Install the Google Chrome browser
Every device is different, visit Google Chrome for details online. 

Set up your profile on the Pathable platform.
Once you have accessed your profile, please update your personal information. Rest assured that your information is secure on the Pathable platform and that your email and phone number will only be shared with the exhibitors you allow. When updating your profile, you’ll add the following:

  • Profile photo
  • Password
  • Name & credentials
  • Title
  • Company name
  • Phone number 
  • Description of your role
  • Country
  • Descriptive tags, which allow others to search for you based on common interests.

Flag the contacts you “Want to Meet”
The Account page allows you to view all the contacts you have flagged as “Want to Meet” and allows you to remove any you no longer wish to keep on this list. “Want to Meet” is a popular feature on the virtual platform because it lets others know you are interested in connecting with them.

Manage your preferences
The Account page also allows you to manage your preferences. For example, you can stop receiving email notifications or hide your profile from other attendees. Please note that conference speakers cannot hide their profile.

How do I use the Pathable platform to network with peers and suppliers?

The virtual platform comes with an advanced search feature that lets you find peers, colleagues, speakers, and exhibiting company representatives. 

Finding people to connect with
To start, click on “People” in the top menu. You can search for people by name, title, company and many other variables. Once you’ve found someone you want to connect with, you can send them a message and schedule a Zoom meeting. 

Accepting a meeting request
If someone requests a meeting with you, you’ll immediately receive an email with a link to read and respond. On the Pathable platform, the bell symbol in the upper right corner of your screen will turn red to indicate that a message is waiting for you. Meetings that you accept will appear in your personal agenda. 

How do I attend a session on the Pathable platform?

Access the program agenda by clicking on “Schedule” in the top menu. Search for the session you would like to attend by looking at the Calendar or by searching for it by name, description, track, survey links, or topic. Add the session to your personal conference agenda and when it’s time to begin, simply click the “Join” button.

During the sessions you can chat online with other attendees, take part in polls, view other session attendee profiles, and download session documents.

NOTE: We strongly recommend using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers. Due to limitations within Zoom, attendees in Safari, Firefox, or other browsers may have to dial in via telephone in order to hear the meeting audio. If you are unable to connect online, telephone dial-in numbers will be provided once you join the broadcast.

For Exhibitors

How can I highlight my company’s offerings?

Robust profiles for each sponsor and exhibitor are customized with logo, description, contact information, and virtual lead retrieval for attendees to request more information. You will be given access to edit your organization details according to what the meeting planner sets as editable.

How can I highlight my booth sales staff?

Easily connect your company’s attendee profiles to the sponsor or exhibitor page for effortless communication.

How can I view my leads?

Through your profile, you will be able to view your leads, create polls, add video and sales collateral. Please note, your leads are attendees who have requested more information.
